The Italian Job 2014
We delivered a 2 week radio project to 15 Italian students. They were able to broadcast their shows live at the end of the week and their family and friends back in Italy were able to listen in to them. English is not their first language and they found this project helped them to develop their use of English – speaking, reading and writing, they built up their confidence, presentation skills, improved their timekeeping and communication skills. They were able to be creative and imaginative and so they found their time with us enjoyable!
The Culture and Heritage Radio Project 2015
Year 9 students from Capital City Academy learnt how to produce and present a radio show. The theme was about heritage and culture and investigating ones that are unfamiliar or different to the ones they are growing up with. The objective was to appreciate and respect everyone’s differences, yet learning life long skills and building confidence.
